I've got a Yu Yu Hakusho: Tournament Tactics for the GBA. I'll check out some FAQs for the game you mentioned; if it plays at all similar I'll probably stick to the game I can read... :)

yes, he has made the same game -- or at least refined additions to the concept -- repeatedly. I'm not complaining, since I love the results ;)

You may wish to check out Yuu Yuu Hakusho - Tokubetsu Hen (japanese-only SNES release). I think that and its predecessor (also on the SNES but not as good.. don't remember what it is called) are pretty much what invented this genre. It has unbelievably beautiful cinematics... esp given the technology of its time.

Although.. everything's in Japanese. You'll need to either spend a lot of time experimenting or check out a FAQ to understand how it works.

I'm aware of it, but I haven't played it and didn't realize it was multiplayer (with simultaneous turns, no less!). I'll have to check it out soon.

I just played Gollop's Rebelstar: Tactical Command last week. Very neat, but I'm wondering if he's just been remaking the same game for the last 20 years. I'm not complaining, I'm sort of surprised how similar these are.

> 'X-Com is the only single-player game on this list, but it would have a good shot at translating to multiplayer'

have you seen Laser Squad Nemesis, a _very_ similar multiplayer online game from X-Com's author?

great fun. I just wish it was playable online, instead of as a windows-only binary...
