You wrote “I am simply suggesting that you provide like-functionality in A-grade browsers.” IE is not an A-grade browser, you were conflating the idea of grading support with grading browsers. I didn’t think it was just a simple misphrase because you went on to talk about the right browsers and to characterize developers as constantly complaining.

It’s entirely possible that we’re in violent agreement and we’re just seeing different things in the word “professionalism”. It’s a pretty vague word.

Reindel manages to turn this whole definition around, though. He writes about A-grade browser support, then drifts into talking about “A-grade browsers”.

Good rebuttal, but where do I turn the definition around in my post? I was careful to define A-grade browser support exactly as Yahoo! defines it — with the emphasis on support, not the browser. It just so happens that the biggest drop in support is for IE, so it might seem to imply that it is an A-grade browser, while there really is no such thing at all. There is only A-grade support. Regardless of the browser. This is why I say:

I am not exhibiting bias toward IE, and let me assure you that I (just like Yahoo!) believe that A-grade support includes Firefox, Opera, Safari and IE.
