Sprangle

From the “blogs aren’t a fad” news department, my dad started one to chronicle a month-long, world-spanning trip: Sprangle Blog. The only problem I have with his blog is that I got a lot of my writing style and sense of humor from him and now he’s giving away my lack of originality.

I have no idea why he sorted the front page with newest entries on the bottom (I suspect creeping old-fogeyism), but the RSS feed works fine. If you like my blog but your eyes glazeth over when I start posting code, you’ll dig his.

First of all, my apologies to everyone, everywhere. I had many opportunities to prevent the perpetrator of this web site from reaching puberty. It was not for lack of courage that I failed to act; who knew he would become such a viper? True, he’s a talented, handsome, articulate and brilliant viper, but had I only known, I could have spared the world this agony. Probably would have earned a Nobel Prize for it.

Oh the humanity; oh, the coulda-shoulda.

As for the order in which I wrote my blog, it’s an established story-telling, journey-reporting reality concept, favored by people like Shakespeare and Mark Twain. It’s called “chronological order.” Chairman Mao paid it honor when he said, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a Big Mac and fries” (or something like that.)

Pity his post-modern generation has lost touch with the construct. Hence, we are in Iraq.
